BOOK RECS

An ongoing list I am updating of reads that tickled my heart & inspired my mind:

'The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself' - by Michael Alan Singer

Book cover titled 'The Untethered Soul' by Michael A. Singer, with a photo of a horse running on the beach, waves in the background, and a quote from Deepak Chopra.

I have already read this book twice in different times of my life and both times it hit the spot.

Eloquent journey within your soul, purpose of life and flow of energy within you. I would highly recommend having your own copy to be able to mark things within it (if you are a book scribbler like I am) - it was so profound to see what I marked 3 years ago and what I want to be marking today.

The book is a warm, heartfelt guide towards inner peace, the teachings of Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism are weaved into the story of our everyday life clarifying, inspiring and peacefully guiding the reader into the possibility of simple everyday happiness.

Please enjoy the journey of your untethered soul and share your findings with me, email, instagram or any other communication, would love to create a little book club session on this!

'The Power of Now' - Ekhart Tolle

Book cover titled "The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment" by Eckhart Tolle, with a blue radiant light background.

A transformative guide to living fully in the present moment.

Absolutely loved the interview-style, question-and-answer writing—it somehow allows you to really sit in the seat of the one who is asking and soak all the information up like a sponge with zero resistance. Tolle masterfully explains how letting go of past regrets and future anxieties can lead to profound inner peace.

The book offers practical insights and spiritual wisdom to help you break free from the grip of your overthinking mind. If you're ready to embrace the power of the present, this book will change the way you see yourself and the world around you.

'Conversations with God' - N.D. Walsch

The cover of the audiobook "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsch. It features a blue sky with clouds and a silhouette of a person with arms raised.

Recently I mentioned this book out-loud and someone in the room said this book changed my life, I thought - probably mine too, in a way and then decided to share it with you.

Do not get discouraged by the title of it or it’s directness, better get inspired by it, for the contents within are going to turn your world upside down or actually put the puzzle together.

Originally a trilogy, the 1st book really focused on the individual matters of body, mind and soul and believe me it is not the usual self help, repeating same spiritual concepts read.

This really digs deeper, asks the questions you might be uncomfortable to answer. It allows you to fall in love with yourself and the whole man kind all together. I would highly suggest to have a copy of your own to be able to re-read it couple of years later.

'Eastern body Western Mind' - by Anodea Judith

Book cover titled 'Revised Eastern Body Western Mind: Psychology and the Chakra System as a Path to the Self' by Anodea Judith, featuring an illustration of pink lotus flowers and green leaves.

In preparation for the Untamed Soul retreat I am offering a beautiful slice of wisdom - Eastern Body Western Mind - grounding the concepts of energy centers chakras in our everyday life.

Connecting to your inner world and understanding on how to support oneself to form a whole, joyful human being and consciousness has never been explained more clear than in this book.
We are constantly moulding ourselves, shaping and forming who we are through our experiences - chosen or not.

Aligning the energy centers within will create an open pathway to the energies outside - you and universe become one <3

'Wherever You Go There you Are' - by Jon Kabat Zinn

Book cover titled 'Wherever You Go, There You Are' by Jon Kabat-Zinn, featuring a calm lake with mountain reflections under a clear blue sky.

The thought provoking title really explains our current predicament. We are in constant movement of going somewhere away from where we are in the moment. If summer is here we want to leave town and go to the lakes. When autumn knocks on the door we fly out into more sun. When thoughts are clouding our mind we go for a run, see friends do something. Always do something.

Yet each time what we find is that wherever we physically go we actually find ourselves in exactly the same predicament with ourselves - restless.

Cultivating a meditation practice really supports the feeling of contentment in the present moment which we all are so seeking for. This booked helped me in this ♥

'Digital Minimalism' - by Cal Newport

Book cover titled 'Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World' by Cal Newport, featuring a broken white USB cable on a light blue background.

I love this book because it explores how we can support ourselves in peeling away from screens and nurturing a deeper connection to the present moment.

Newport's wisdom encourages us to cultivate a mindful, intentional approach to our digital lives, offering a valuable guide for balancing technology with well-being. What I love about this read is its simplicity and practicality—it doesn't alarm us with doomsday scenarios about our tech use but instead inspires healthier habits and more meaningful ways to engage with digital platforms. After all, you're reading this newsletter on a device, and we don’t want to lose the benefits technology brings; it's all about balance :)

'On Earth we are briefly Gorgeous' - by Ocean Vuong

Black and white book cover showing a close-up of two people hugging, with the title 'On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous' and author Ocean Vuong.

Something outside the self help & learning section - food for soul.

“They say nothing lasts forever but they're just scared it will last longer than they can love it.”
Ocean Vuong, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous

This time I wanted to share a simply beautiful read just for the joy of it, for the appreciation of the words put together so beautifully that they touch your soul.

Instead of cancelling the mind, allowing ourselves to enjoy the ebs and flows it takes us knowing that we can create only from the balance of both - body & mind. The written word can take us places - Ocean Voung has done this job perfectly. Enjoy
